AS + HA merger may be finalized this week

The DOT just signed off on the proposed AS/HA merger with a list of conditions that do not appear to present any major hurdles. The merger may be finalized as early as the end of this week.

How exactly this plays out is anyone's guess, but if AS can step up and provide HA with a functional website and mobile app, it will definitely be a win.

HA's website and particularly, its mobile app are an embarrassment of limited functionality, when it actually works.
Look, it's been swell, but the swelling's gone down.

I find this one really interesting, hope it works out. HA into oneworld at some point?
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

Supposedly. Other than JAL, Qantas, and Fiji Airways, I'm not overly thrilled about the Oneworld alliance. You can't pay me enough to fly American.

I'm looking forward to:
1. HA ditching their awful call center in the Philippines
2. A website that provides actual functionality
3. A mobile app that provides actual functionality

HA are wonderful in the air and for the most part, on the ground. Living on one of the neighboring islands, we rely on inter-island flights as we often find ourselves going to O'ahu for medical appointments and paddling competitions.

Their A330s are going to start getting returned to the lessors in 2025, or so I hear.
And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

My understanding is that some of them were going for cargo conversion to continue being operated by HA for Amazon.

AS may decide to extend the leases and move the aircraft to SEA for longhaul widebody operations, but that's only if HA keeps taking delivery of the incoming 787s.

That's assuming Boeing can deliver aircraft on time...
Beat it to fit, paint it to match.
