As I mentioned before, I'm well north of south Florida, but I-75 passes by about 10 miles east of my home. Anyway, it's a virtual parking lot on the northbound side. Three lanes, bumper to bumper, and moving about five miles an hour. I've driven under it a few times yesterday and today and it's just getting worse.
Gas lines here are about 30 to 45 minutes, if you can find a station with fuel.
I went to Walmart this morning and they'd just unloaded a pallet of propane cylinders for the Coleman camp stove that I have for emergencies. So I picked up 10 bottles of that to keep us going during the rain. After the rain passes, I've got plenty of charcoal (~300 lbs) , so cooking won't be a problem until the juice comes back on.
We have about 3 cases of bottled water for my wife, me, and the two dogs, plus about 40 gallons in big 5 gallon jugs, so we'll be able to flush for a few days.
So I'm still playing the waiting game. Based on past experience, the power will probably go out Sunday or Monday, but I'll keep checking in until we lose it.
The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers...
