A Great Community

The place for site-related announcements and member feedback.

I believe that we have a truly unique community, that is much tighter knit than what I have previously encountered. We had something similar at liners, but after DM took over, the sense of community has slowly evaporated.

Every so often, our daily lives take precedent over our involvement with netAirspace.com. We are absent for a while, sometimes longer.

I am here almost every day, and I am glad to be part of what can be considered an on-line community, not just a website where people intersect to view images and discuss aviation. Between the meets, and the back-channel messages, there is definitely a good amount of camaraderie.

I am glad to be a part of it. Thanks to all that make it what it is.

Wall to wall, tree-top tall; that is all! :))
And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

I'll echo all of that - sadly I haven't made a meet yet, but I will one day. I've met in person two of you, and swapped many messages with some others.

I kind of like it here myself.

Rack-em'. I'm getting a beer.

There's a good mix here - regular users, less frequent sorts, and those who pass by on the odd occasion. We have those who use the forums, those who just upload images, and those who use a mix of both. The variety is good and, even though we don't necessarily always agree on everything, the vibe of the place is far better than most sites I've been a part of {thumbsup}
A million great ideas...

Now that I'm in WY with a non-retarded ISP, I should be able to post again. YAY!

I can only second what Vic said.

I had always hoped for some of the old community spirit to survive, and it did.

We hang out online, we share our photos, trip reports and stories, and - most important to me - we travel around the world and meet wherever they would build an airport.

That does mean a lot to me. {thumbsup}

This place rocks . . .

I love the photos, even my crappy ones with a telephone camera, and I enjoy the company.
LET'S GO BRANDON!!!!

I also totally agree with what was said above {thumbsup}

A great website made by great people, there's a fantastic spirit here and I just feel like at home when I visit NAS. Thanks again to you all for making our aviation hobby an even more enjoyable one, I'm glad to be part of this community. {thumbsup} {thumbsup} {thumbsup}
New airlines, new routes, new countries... back in the air

I've been here a little less than usual lately...hey, new grandchild!! (Despite being WAY too young to be a grandmother...)

I came here after that other site became a bit too nit-picky and childish for my liking. To my utter delight, I found a warm, welcoming crowd some of whom I've had the great pleasure in meeting and spending time with...and if it wasn't for you lot, I may never have made it to SXM!!!

Thank you all!

It is a great community indeed, and I'm happy to be part of it {cheerful} The only thing missing is for me to haul myself to a meet... {boxed}
Money can't buy happiness; but it can get you flying, which is pretty much the same.
Yokes 05 Oct 14, 13:56Post
I totally agree, great community!

This is an awesome community! I'm very grateful for the friendships that I've found here, not to mention some very supportive conversations when times got tough.

We are what that other site should have been. 8)

The other site was what this site is now, but I don't think it was as tight as what we have here.

You all are a part of my family.

A great community without the hassles of Facebook! {thumbsup}

Indeed. Just the other week, myself and Martin Hodgson discovered a bar selling San Miguel for £2 a pint, in the middle of Manchester none the less!

When's the NAS tower tour? {mischief}
Lucas (netAirspace ATC & Founding Member) 07 Oct 14, 18:59Post
I guess when I run the show, huh? It's a new tower, actually, so it's kind of nice! Tons of freakin' helicopters, though. That sucks.

Nice. To meet you, TP80! :) We have a bunch of aviation professionals on here, from maintenance and restoration experts to pilots to controllers to people who help plan the futures of big airports, even. It's a great family. :)
Lucas (netAirspace ATC & Founding Member) 23 Nov 14, 18:36Post
Of course, we also have complete boobs, such as myself.

Was not too difficult... ;) Wow, 500 uploads in the first 1,5 weeks, gives us a little bit work in the screening queue!
