After years of it being suggested by everyone, we should probably try to plan a LIS meet.

Spring 2025 seems to be a good fit for those of us that discussed it at recent gatherings. It would be good see a decent number attend, so we're planning this as early as possible.

Dates to be avoided are:
Easter 18th-20th Apr, the subsequent week will also be expensive due to school/public holidays.

The week June 9th - 15th around Portugal day, which could be tricky travel-wise.

Somewhere between those dates would seem to make sense but all suggestions are very welcome.

Rain wise, June, July and August are best, but it gets hotter than hell.

January starts off as the rainiest and tapers off towards May.

Last time we were all there was April. It wasn't too bad.

I'd like to do this. I'll be going into full retirement, most likely next year, and after that, overseas travel will be very limited, if at all. Be good to see you all one more time. Dates don't matter to me, I'll adjust to whatever you pick.
What's the point of an open door policy if inside the open door sits a closed mind?

As long as work permits I´m in. For me, the best time would be may or june.

Ah yes, I remember rushing to Decathlon for a winter base layer as I was freezing to death {laugh}

May sounds good...

Any time of year that isn't too hot should be fine with me.
Not being a photographer, photo light is of no relevance for me when picking a date.

Use your time wisely; remember that today is the first day of the rest of your life.

I'd be in for sure.

As of now, 12 - 23 May are out for me though, due to work commitments. Early May might be better than late to avoid problems with heat haze.

Just to give this a bump.

Friday 2nd - Sunday 4th May seems to be the favourite for those of us planning to attend. Flights are currently quite pricey but should come down in the new year when the full schedules are in place.

What say we all?

I'll need to double check I can get the leave once I'm back to work on Monday - barring any issues with that, I'm in {thumbsup}

Hopefully this'll be well attended!

Going to be a bit of a struggle the way it fits around my shifts but I'll see what I can do!
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Careful as the first weekend of may will be a long one so prices are likely to stay high.

First weekend in may could be diffcult, can earliest say that when I make the working schedule for may.

For me, later in may would be better.

OK, so it turns out first weekend in May is no good for me either. But the week before and week after are also not available (at least with the week before I couldn't confirm for a while yet). The next weekend I could do would be 24 & 25 May but that's also a Bank Holiday in the UK which tends to make fares higher.

I'd maybe be prepared to take the hit to get away though. Alternatively, either of the first two weekends in April (avoiding Easter weekend).

Obviously, if the majority go with other dates, so be it.

First week in May I'll be in SXM celebrating 60 laps around the sun.

Week after is Mothers' Day for us.

If I can make it, I'll do may darnest to get there.

Should we start a poll ?

When is May Day? I've gotten burned a couple of times by that. Everything's closed and it's even hard to get something decent to eat.

Done. You can select as many or as few as you're available for.

Unselected my votes due to lack of interest. I'm out.

Due to my recent issues, I can't commit to any travel this year, certainly not before later in the year at the very least.

Looks like this is a no-go. Shame.

Don't know what it is about LIS, but getting there from Finland is insanely expensive. I'm talking LAX money. There's just no way I can justify that to myself.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.
